When I was informed that eco-friendly 360 vodka was coming out with 2 flavors – “Double Chocolate” and “Cola” – my curiosity was piqued. I like the plain ole 360 vodka. It is a more-than-decent spirit in a retro-stylish 85% recycled bottle. Sometimes, when vodkas go flavored, they make a turn for the worse.
Let’s jump right in and start with the Double Chocolate. This was a wonderful surprise – one of my favorite flavored vodkas to date. It’s like taking a sip of a thick, rich, malty, chocolate shake… but with alcohol. Yay! Muddle a few raspberries, add a coupla ounces of 360 Double Chocolate and ice, strain into a small martini glass – and voila – a quick, little, easy-to-make after-dinner tipple.
Now let’s move along to Cola. I admit that I was apprehensive. And, truth be told, I had good reason. It tastes worse than cough medicine and leaves a lingering sweet moldy taste. I tasted it three times to be sure. Yep. Buzz Kill.
Well, even 360 can’t get perfect score 100% of the time. But try that chocolate. Or stick with the plain. And, if you don’t trust my tastebuds, go for the Cola if you’re really too lazy to pour a soda into your vodka-on-the-rocks. At only $19.99, its not much of a risk.
