I love when companies come up with an interesting tie-in when marketing their brand. Rather than hock their wares with false advertising and scantily clad co-eds, 1800 Tequila brings a little “culture” into the mix by teaming up with artists for their annual designer bottles.
The company had over 15,000 online submissions for this year’s designer series from both recognized and unknown artists. The 2010 special-edition bottle is by Studio Number One, best known for founder Shepard Fairey’s Obama “Hope” design. Florencio Zavala, Associate Creative Director for Studio Number One says, "We wanted to create something that's as much fun to enjoy on the shelf as it is off the shelf. It's a design that captures the wild side of tequila, but tames it with a dose of humor and a sense of adventure.”
Die-hard L.A. Lakers fans will also clamor for a bottle of 1800 Tequila’s special edition purple and gold commemorative bottle, honoring the recent sponsorship between the spirits company and the sports team. Sure to be a slam dunk for fans as the Lakers race toward the 2010 playoffs!
Both limited edition bottles are only $24.99.
