"Wine" Down at BottleRock

There is nothing to love about rush hour. Luckily for those trapped on the 10 or 405 freeways, Culver City's BottleRock’s Happy Hour offers a quick escape from the commute conundrum.

Both a wine shop and trendy upbeat wine bar, BottleRock's large outdoor patio and high bar stools lend a laid-back European vibe to those sitting outside watching the Main St. view. Or, sit inside at the long wooden bar and feel the day slip away through floor to ceiling windows. Well-stocked wine shelves and bins create a casual yet classy backdrop for the hip after-work crowd.

Monday-Friday, 4-6:30 offers a traffic busting “Rush Hour” menu offering assorted wines, beer, and light bites, all for $4-8 bucks! With over 10 wines by the glass and a handful of light bar snacks to choose from, pairing becomes a fun treat! The slightly spicy Pine Ridge Viognier goes down easily with garlic-herbed marinated olives and Marcona almonds, while the inky Argentinean Malbec and its full-bodied flavor are the perfect compliment to an order of the “Pizza Fingers.” (Try them with roasted peppers and Italian salami for the perfect flavor combination!) A bit of bubbly Prosecco sits well with a trio of savory aged cheeses or the farmer’s market fresh Heirloom Tomato Caprese salad drizzled with a tangy balsamic.

The pièce de résistance for those stuck in the slow lane is a Truffle Grilled Cheese sandwich wearing home made truffle butter alongside an Eridinger Hefe-Weizen selected from the “What Ales You?” beer list— a perfect comfort food combination at $10! If you’d like to miss traffic entirely, stop in on a Saturday when they hold wine tastings; $15 provides a sampling of 4-5 wines.

So skip the gridlock and park yourself at Culver City’s happiest wine bar. We assure you that there is no better way to "wine" down after a long day at the office.
